Bridging the Gap in Patient Care with AI

About Otomo

About Otomo

Inspired by the Japanese word for “companion,” Otomo stands with both providers and patients on every step of the care journey.

Founding

story.

Visiting a doctor's office can be frustrating—phone calls go unanswered, convenient appointments are scarce, and after lengthy waits, doctor consultations often last mere minutes. The patient experience is rarely satisfactory.

Yet behind the scenes, medical offices strive to accommodate as many patients as possible within significant constraints. Healthcare systems face mounting pressure from an aging population and increasing medical demands. Expanding the medical workforce isn't an overnight solution, and with healthcare workers leaving the profession at alarming rates, innovative support systems are essential.

When Otomo Health launched in 2024, voice-based large language model (LLM) technology had reached a level of maturity suitable for medical applications. As founders with healthcare expertise, we recognized an opportunity to apply these advances in ways that meaningfully support medical professionals, patients, and their families—a vision that continues to guide our business development today.

Otomo’s founders came together during their graduate studies at MIT, where a shared commitment to transforming healthcare first took shape. Rooted in MIT’s innovation ecosystem, the team remains focused on building solutions that create tangible value for both patients and healthcare providers.
